Paris to get a taste of Three Sisters' 'Fat Boy Red': Here's the update from Three Sisters Vineyards:
-"This week, the new U.S. Ambassador to France, Charles H. Rivkin, and USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service at the Paris Embassy will host an “American Wine Tasting” at the Ambassador’s Residence. Three Sisters Vineyards is excited to report that we were invited to participate in this special event. Over 400 trade and media guests are expected to attend on March 24, 2010. Three Sisters' Cabernet Franc-Merlot, Cynthiana, Dahlonega Gold and Fat Boy Red will be part of the historic presentation with other wines from California, Washington and Oregon for the occasion. Three Sisters Vineyards and Persimmon Creek Vineyards are the two participating from Georgia. An American Fat Boy in Paris? Stay tuned for pictures and reviews!"
What's new:
-March 28, End of the Winter Celebration, Wolf Mountain Vineyards. Features live jazz and Sunday brunch with seatings at 12:30 and 2:30 p.m., $30 per person.
-April 4: Wolf Mountain Vineyards, Easter brunch. The eighth annual Easter Brunch is $30 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Seats at 12:30 and 2:30 p.m.
-April 4: Montaluce Winery and Estates, Easter brunch. Details pending.
-April 10: Tiger Mountain Vineyards plans Malbec release. The release party for the 2008 Malbec is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition to Malbec, enjoy mushroom hors d'oeuvres, artisan cheeses and breads, live music. The cost: $10 per person. (Nod to Wine Growers Association of Georgia)

-April 10: Montaluce Winery and Estates Blessing of the Vines, 11 a.m. "This ancient celebration of spring includes a special service by Father Troy Beecham followed by a Prosecco reception at the winery."
-April 17: Tybee Wine Festival: OK, so this isn't North Georgia but it sounds like fun. "The Tybee Wine Festival is an annual fund raiser for the Tybee Post Theater. Over 100 wines and craft beers from around the world will be featured. Local restaurants will be serving samples from their menus – Papas BBQ & Seafood, Hunter House, Breakfast Club, etc. Trolley rides will be provided to preview the restoration progress. Come spend the afternoon at the Lighthouse tasting new wines, craft beers and samples from some of the best restaurants while supporting the restoration of the Tybee Theater. -April 18: Wine Highway Tour by Marietta Wine Market, $85 per person: Leaves from Marietta Wine Market at 9:30 a.m. First stop, Wolf Mountain Winery. There we will enjoy their Jazz Brunch and take a tour of their winery. From there it's off to visit and tour the Monteluce Winery. At 3 p.m., depart to Downtown Dahlonega for the 14th annual Bear on the Square Mountain Festival. The Bear on the Square Mountain Festival is an incredible weekend of music and art held each spring in the foothills of the North Georgia mountains and there are three tasting rooms in downtown Dahlongea. -April 24: Earth Day celebration at Crane Creek Vineyards & Guest House, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

-May 22-23: Taste of Sautee: Fine wine, food, art and music combine for a special weekend. Taking part are four area wineries as well as five bands, area restaurants and more than 40 artists. The wineries include Yonah Mountain, Sautee Nachoochee, Frogtown Cellars, Habersham and Serenity Cellars. The bands include: Kyle Obermeier & Jeremiah Osterman; Kip Dockery Band; The Georgia Mudcats; Monica Spears; Shoal Creek Band. Hours: 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday; noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
